This is stupid. But then, I took a look at their other videos including Japanese swords, and they are not much more clever. I think they use a iaito, or some non sharpened sword.
I'd have to be a little skeptical too, simply because they don't show the cut skin right after the stroke. They use some weird cut shots which could be all too easily faked.
Hi Jeff, great blog - I especially enjoy the posts about your visits to the Tokyo Budokan for Jodo. I study there under Furukawa, Arai, Shiiya and Tsuriga sensei, and can totally sympathise with how it feels to have your tachi struck by Furukawa sensei! Hope to see you there one time.
